I want a playlist that shows me all the music that's been added in the last month. So for example I like to filter by artist, and I want the albums to be sorted by release date, not alphabetically.

I think a lot of the stuff that people end up customising though is less about the look and the layout and more about the UX/workflow elements. It'll probably look a bit overwhelming, but most of it will be pretty intuitive, and at the very least you'll be able to work out what to Google for if it isn't. Then I'd just start playing around with the layout and looking through the preferences. You can always go back, but this will be one of the main defining aspects of your setup. If it were me starting over, first thing I'd do is just install Facets and Columns UI and have a quick play around with each of them to decide which one to stick with (I'm a Columns UI man myself). Under View -> Layout, you can configure a layout that you'll like by either making one from scratch or selecting a default layout via quick setup.įor a basic layout, you can use Album List + Properties (Tabbed) then just modify it after to your liking.įoobar customisation is more about the journey than the destination lol. If you're looking for a plugin thats not listed anywhere, then just google it since someone out there probably made it. You can get a variety of plugins/components as well. In your configuration you can set where your music is if you haven't already. I just went with a nice color scheme since Foobar is typically in the background under a ton of windows.

Skins are last thing to customize in my opinion. Usually look through google images and follow the images to the source. You can just google the skins that you'd want.
